We have been very busy in the LS Science Lab this week. The 2nd grade is finishing up their labs on "Why leaves change color in the fall" and the 3rd graders having been testing the toughness of leaves using an instrument called a "penetrometer".
A special welcome to our 1st grade classes who have been coming to the lab this week for their safety lesson, and learning how to use some of the tools of science. They are so excited about being up in the lab and they are curious about everything. You can see the excitement shining through their safety goggles. We are looking forward to learning about weather, worms, and magnets as the year goes on.
Also, once a week, I put some object under the FlexCam in the lab and send it out to all the classrooms. Each classroom can log into the camera and send me their collaborative guess. The classroom that responds first with the correct guess wins a prize. This week it was a snake skin shed. Congratulations to Ms. Bair's class for the first correct guess.
